Our Story

Ivan Redkach knows what it means to fight — not only in the ring, but in life.

From the Ring to Responsibility

Ivan Redkach was born in Ukraine and began his boxing journey at an early age. At just 13, he entered the Brovary Higher School of Physical Culture, where his serious training in boxing began under the guidance of coach Oleksandr Polishchuk.

By the age of 19, Ivan was already competing at the Ukrainian National Championships among adults, reaching the final twice and earning silver medals in 2006 and 2009. He became a two-time winner of national tournaments featuring the strongest boxers in Ukraine and consistently represented his country at international competitions.

Many of those bouts were decided by the smallest margins — one or two points — against future world and Olympic champions. These experiences taught Ivan an early lesson: talent matters, but access, stability, and support matter just as much.

A Global Boxing Career

After completing his education, Ivan made the difficult decision to turn professional. An opportunity brought him to Los Angeles, where he immersed himself in the world of professional boxing, training under renowned coach Mario Morales.

Ivan made his professional debut in November 2009, winning by technical knockout. He went on an impressive winning streak, building a reputation as a disciplined, resilient, and relentless fighter. His career included high-level bouts, title eliminators, and victories over former world champions — moments that marked the peak of years of sacrifice and persistence.

But professional boxing also exposed Ivan to the other side of the sport: pressure, instability, personal setbacks, and the mental toll that comes when structure disappears outside the ring.

Lessons Beyond Boxing

Throughout his journey — from Ukraine to the United States and beyond — Ivan witnessed a recurring pattern. Talented young people were often limited not by lack of ability, but by lack of opportunity. Others, without guidance or routine, drifted into destructive paths simply because no one was there to catch them early.

Boxing had given Ivan discipline, accountability, and direction. Without those elements, he realized, many people never get the chance to discover their own potential.

When Ivan stepped away from full-time competition and into mentorship, his purpose became clear.

Why Equal Chance Boxing Foundation Exists

Equal Chance Boxing Foundation was created to answer a simple but powerful question:

What happens when people are given real structure, real support, and a fair chance?

The foundation uses boxing not to create fighters, but to build stronger individuals and healthier communities.

Through its programs:

This foundation is not about wins or losses.
It is about consistency, guidance, and showing up — day after day.

Because when people are given structure, support, and belief,
they don’t just survive — they move forward.
